Rihanna Taunts Teenage Fan For Wearing Similar Outfit to Her

Rihanna might be a (supposed) style icon, but she's far from the ideal role model if her latest stunt is anything to go on. The self-proclaimed bad girl joined a gang of cyber bullies as they proceeded to taunt 16 year-old Alexis Carter after she modelled a quirky outfit worn by the singer on the red carpet back in 2010. 



Being one of her biggest fans, Carter attempted to emulate the Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit Rihanna donned for the Echo awards in Berlin, opting to wear a similar ensemble for her school prom. To her dismay, neither the internet or RiRi herself were impressed. 

Young people in the school began posting images of her on social media under the hashtag #PromBat, instead of Rihanna coming to the girl's defence, she decided to make fun of Carter on her own Twitter, retweeting the messages she found funniest. As well as this she created two images, one showing herself in the Vauthier outfit next to the 16 year-old in her outfit, and another with Carter next to the Wu-Tang iconic bat-esque logo. 

In a statement to Fox, Baltimore, Carter said:
"I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing? The poses was different but the outfit wasn't. She don't love her fans like she says she does."

Proving her further maturity this week, the singer dyed her hair bright pink and proceeded to bombard Twitter with a number of selfies.. *yawn*

Shakira and Rihanna Wall Twerk in Disappointing Music Video Can't Remember to Forget You

It seems creative music videos are in short supply recently as Shakira's latest oxymoronic single Can't Remember to Forget You featured little more than wall twerking and girl on girl action with sultry singer Rihanna.

Oh how I wish the days of dancing in lacy lingerie were over as Shakira flings herself from side to side on a bed awkwardly situated on a staircase. For the Columbian singer, her Whenever, Wherever days contained some seriously impressive dance moves with hip action us mere mortals could only dream of. Why has she subjected herself to jutting her derrière into a fancy wall? 

YAWN 

The song itself is strong, it combines heavy reggae influences with a pop rock chorus, but what it gains with the music it severely lacks in the music video. 

The only clever element to the video is it's use of cigars as phallic symbols. I despair.

We welcome Rihanna... special skill: Wall twerking. Hump that wall Rihanna, don't worry about how silly you look, it's all in the name of pop.  

The lez-fest contines as RiRi and Shakira frolic on a stripy bed. I feel like we are intruding on an intimate moment here.. *rolls eyes*

Can Shakira even play guitar? She isn't doing a good job of convincing me here, perhaps she took tips from Niall Horan who loves to wander around stage jamming with a Fender that isn't plugged in.

5 Reasons Rihanna's 'Pour It Up' Shouldn't Have Been Released

For a lot of artists recently, especially of the pop descent, it seems controversial is very much the way to go. From Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' to Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball', nakedness and crudity is extremely popular when it comes to music videos. With the hugely anticipated comebacks of Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, I expected Rihanna to at least attempt to compete with the competition. 

Pour it up, is in its entirety, a pointless and indeed ridiculous video, I think we've seen it all before! Here are five legitimate reasons I believe the video should never have been released. 


The Blatant Sexism

Although I was only half surprised by the scantly clad women in the video, I was pretty disgusted with the abundance of pole dancing and the site of bikini-clad women violently shaking their derrieres to an inappropriate level. The video is almost laughable and she sets a horrible example to young fans. The lyrics aren't much better as she sings: 

"Goin' dumb with all my friends"

"Strippers goin' up and down that pole, and I still got more money"

"Bands make your girl go down"


It's Consumerist

This is extremely obvious, but the song is all about having more money than everyone else. She repeats the line 'I still got more money' fifteen times throughout the song, and boasts Chanel earrings and what resembles a gold Chasity belt in the video. To add an extra element of greed, the singer wedges paper bills down her belt as money floats nonchalantly past the backing dancers.

It's Boring

There is nothing worse than watching an unentertaining music video, and I'm pretty sure the original people at MTV imagined these three minute wonders to tell more of a story, or give more of an insight into the artist's song. This video, it seems, is as shallow and nauseous  as the song itself. 

It's not a patch on the Pop Queens

For fans of pop, Lady Gaga delivered Applause with artistry and a slice of quirkiness. Katy Perry sprang into the charts with a fresh single 'Roar' and Britney Spears soothed our pop craving with club banger 'work b**ch'. Rihanna lacks pretty much everything these three ladies have, and in the end, she just looks a bit trashy. 

We're not interested in twerking

Miley Cyrus showed us twerking, and then some. I'm sure I'm not the only one to be sick of seeing people twerk. It seems Rihanna's attempts to be contraversial are very much futile, as she just proves that 'twerking' is very much an unflattering and ridiculous action. Roll on the parody videos, which will no doubt be a hundred times more entertaining than this.
